A note from the Chair...

The bid is no more. Concordia began when there were no bids forthcoming for 2009 and even the future of the 2007 event was looking unsteady. After Novacon, we suddenly had two competing bids and I was on the committee for Contemplation, the 2007 'replacer-con'. The more I chatted to my competitors, LX, ably chaired by James Bacon and Peter Harrow, the more obvious it became that fandom needed collaboration far more than it needed a contested bid and so I made the decision to bring Concordia to a close. Just because there's only one bid, doesn't mean you're not needed. LX will be fantastic and they still need your vote!

How to make it happen...

LX will be presenting their bid at the 2007 Eastercon, Contemplation, where members will vote on whether they deserve the right to hold the 2009 convention. To vote, you need to sign-up for Contemplation and attend the bidding session there. We'll see you at Eastercon!
